The roads all appear to be clear so the classes will take place as usual!Snow Closing Policy:Many times the schools are closed and by the time studio classes begin the roads are fine, so this being said we don't go by the Nordonia School System or Green Local Schools as to whether we will be having class. We will evaluate the weather closer to classes starting and make the decision based on the weather reports for our area. If classes are cancelled we will post it on the website here and also send out an email. The phone message at the studio will also reflect if the studio is closed. Since we have many students who travel from several areas you must use your own discretion as to whether the roads are safe enough to drive. If you don't feel they are, then just call the office and we'll be happy to give you make-up times for your classes. Center Stage Dance Studio is one of the premier studios in Ohio, owned and operated by Sherry Federan. Offering a wide range of classes from beginner to advanced, we have a faculty that is thrilled to give you or your children an experience to last a lifetime! Serving the Northfield community for over 23 years, we've recently added a second location in the Akron area with hopes to bring even more students into the exciting world of DANCE! The Green location is also the home of The Ohio Conservatory of Ballet which is under the direction of Inna Stabrova and Dmitriy Tuboltsev. About Us

About Us

Center Stage Dance Studio was opened in 1988 by owner, Sherry Federan. The studio in Northfield has 3 large dance rooms with floating floor systems and marley floor covering. In 1988, Center Stage consisted of only one room, and through the years we have increased to our current size. Now, after 23 years, we have added a second studio location in Akron, OH. This new studio consists of two large dance rooms with floating floor systems and marley floor covering.

We began with the goal to provide the children from the community and surrounding areas quality dance instruction to help them become the best that they could be. From recreational dance to serious study, correct technique is always stressed. We also believe in teaching through positive reinforcement and feel that children learn best in this environment. We feel as though we have in place a studio where any age can learn and enjoy dance and feel part of a well rounded extended family.

Interested in joining our Competition Company?

Every summer after the recital, Center Stage holds a four

week long summer dance camp. Students who would like to

try out for our company will turn in a try-out sheet during this

time and the teachers will watch and decide if they are ready

to be in the dance company, and what groups they will be

placed in.

More info:

Company members have a larger commitment to the studio than

our recreational students. Company members will attend at least

four regional competitions a year, along with one nationals at the

end of every season. They have more requirements when it comes

to ballet and body placement, and they are held at a more serious,

and higher level when it comes to their dance education. Our

company has dramatically grown in size over the past 3 years,

and we now have a very well known, and respected, competition

CONGRATULATIONS 2011-2012 COMPANY MEMBERS!!The teachers have worked very hard this past month putting the groups together and are very excited to get started on choreography! We are very confident we have put together all the groups so that they are strong and challenging for all! We can't wait for another amazing year!!! Groups are formed based on many criteria, such as ability, averaged age, look, number, idea, etc., ...so please don't try to 2nd guess our decisions as to why your child was or wasn't put into a certain group...PLEASE remember that no calls, texts or emails will be taken regarding placement! Also, no viewing of classes will be permitted during August and it is suggested that the children be dropped off and picked up. Parents need to let the teachers work on choreography uninterrupted so they can accomplish the most possible. If the teacher wants to open the door at the end of class to show parents then that is their prerogative and we request no parent walk into class uninvited. If your child is in more dances then you put on your paper then the teachers will decide which group to remove you from. Let Carin know in the office if this is the case. Tuition is due the first week back in August so look for your statement in your file folder. The tuition is based on an hourly tuition and not the normal 4-week averaged amount since in many cases they will be meeting 5 weeks or for double the hours. During the first week back you'll receive your schedule for fall, which will be different from the August schedule. The company groups are listed below and the days and times are listed under for the month of August through September 1st only. if it says for Aug without specific dates it means it is starting the first week of Aug and goes the whole month.
